Trade sales apprentice Baillie is 'major asset' to the team

EYG has given a full-time role to a ‘hard working’ young apprentice who started his working life at the Hull-based family-run firm.
Baillie, 20, has completed his Level 2 Customer Service apprenticeship with Hull Training, at Craven Park, and has now become a fully fledged member of EYG’s Trade Processing team.
He started working at EYG in September last year under the mentorship of Trade Processing Manager Steve, who has been blown away by his commitment, hard work, and enthusiasm.
Steve said: “He’s a really good lad, and a major asset to the business.
“He is incredibly hard-working and keen to learn, and he wants to learn everything there is to know.
“He’s also ambitious and tells me he wants my job,” he laughed.
Steve added: “I am blown away by his enthusiasm and it’s great to help bring along a young person who you feel confident has a great career in front of him.”
Baillie completed sixth form before taking on a part time job in the food and leisure industry initially, before applying for the role in the processing team.
The team deals with all the trade contracts and is responsible for issuing manufacturing tickets to the factory.
Baillie said he has enjoyed the challenge of completing his apprenticeship.
He said: “I feel a sense of achievement that I have managed to complete the course, and when the opportunity came up at EYG I jumped at it.
“It’s a good working environment with great people to work with. The work can be stressful at times, but we work well as a team and get through it.
“I am looking forward to continuing my career progression.”
EYG has been a major champion of apprenticeships over the years, and is currently providing two other apprenticeships, for a bricklayer and a marketing apprenticeship.
