Do Steel-look windows still exist?
Steel-look windows (also known as Heritage windows) originate from the 1800s and are featured on notable buildings in the UK, including the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London, even the Titanic had steel-look windows.
They were characterised by their slim black steel frames and glass panels, and were found on the most luxurious homes, thanks to their steep price.
However, the windows have a recent resurgence in popularity and once again can be found in the most expensive homes in both the UK, and also America, where they're equally popular.
At EYG, we love the Steel-look style and have dealt with a number of recent inquiries which led to us creating our own more economical version of this famous window style.
Our Steel-look windows are made using either UPVC or aluminium to re-create the familiar signature style at a more affordable price point by using an astragal bar inside and outside the glass to create the same effect, coupled with black frames.
UPVC frames are slightly thicker, but the more economical version; while aluminium is slightly more costly but has a slimmer profile.
The window frames are black on both the inside as well as the outside, and provide a striking style statement in your home.
By creating our own range, we now opening up this exclusive window style to a wider market, making it more affordable and accessible.

Our Steel-look windows are energy efficient, with A + rated glass as standard.
They perform equally well to our standard UPVC and aluminium windows.
What are Steel-look windows?
They are very distinctive black steel framed windows with panels, which were invented in the 1800s and were very expensive, and therefore only bought by the wealthy.
However, EYG has launched it own steel-look range, which can be made in either UPVC or aluminium, which are cheaper materials and therefore bring the overall cost of the windows down.

Friendly and quality service at its best, from quote to install. The quote was made simple, quick and all options were explained. no waiting on a price once we had explained what we wanted it was calculated and we knew.
