If you want to add a porch to any external door of a house, it does not need planning permission if it is under 3sm in floor area and not within 2 metres of any boundary that is adjacent to a highway.

This is because it can be approved under permitted development rules. If you do want a porch which is larger than 3sqm it could need planning permission. If that is the case, our fitters will take care of the planning process.

Different rules do apply for flats, maisonettes and houses created through the permitted development right.
