EYG winners of the ‘Best Conservatory’ category in national installer awards
16th March 2023
EYG has been named the winners of a major award which recognises the best installers of home improvements products nationally.
We were announced as the winners for Best Conservatory or Orangery Installation under £35,000 at the prestigious GGP Installer Awards..
The award judges described our installation as "outstanding".
Sales and Marketing Director John Waugh was there to collect the award on behalf of EYG, and said it was a “huge honour” for the business.
He said: “We are so thrilled to receive this award, in recognition of the quality and workmanship of our installations.
“This is our 52nd year in business, and are always striving and innovating to bring new products and designs to the market.
“Our conservatory and orangery range is, we believe, among the best you can buy, and this award is testament to what we have achieved as a business - it is a huge honour.”
EYG was recognised for an installation we carried out at the home of Darren Kendrew, from east Yorkshire.
Unfortunately, by the time he contacted us Mr Kendrew had already paid out over £11,500 to two separate building firms who both went bust – losing his money in the process.
He had paid deposits for a single-storey extension to create an open plan kitchen and living area.
EYG stepped in to rescue the plan on a depleted budget, and we managed to build a new conservatory which had the same effect and impact as the original extension plan.
We demolished an existing old draughty conservatory, and built a new one on the same foundations.
Our conservatory team levelled the floor and removed internal doors to create one large space, and by adding an insulated solid tiled roof we made the entre space warm and useable all-year-round.
Mr Kendrew submitted a glowing testimonial in support of our awards submission, saying: “We are delighted with the finished conservatory, the EYG team were also brilliant throughout.
“From the initial meeting with sales manager Jeremey, he understood the circumstances on why we had approached EYG and the loss we had already seen on our finances towards the project of our dreams, due to the building contractors failing to deliver the initial project.
“Whilst we were unable to progress with our initial extension, Jeremey worked closely with us to provide a solution for both our dreams and delivering a design which would make our home more comfortable both in winter and summer, whilst ensuring our project was tailored to our budget.
“The build went very well, all stages commencing on time and the finish was both on time and with no additional costs.
“The new kitchen installed by us along with the perfect conservatory has truly transformed our home,” he said.
EYG’s Managing Director Nick Ward said: “This award is a great achievement and really means a lot to us. It is recognition of the hard work we put in to design and build top-of-the-range conservatories and orangeries.
“We have been in business for over five decades but we are never complacent about our success, and strive to be market leaders. This award is recognition and confirmation that we truly are among the best in the UK for what we do.”
The GGP Installer Awards is run by Glass and Glazing Products magazine, the industry’s leading news journal.
The winners were announced at an awards dinner at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, which was hosted by Eastenders actress and Strictly star Nina Wadia.
