What did we do?
The removal of an old aluminium conservatory held the key to this project’s success, which is why the initial design consultation focused on increasing the available floor space from around 48sqft to 64sqft.
Once this was agreed upon, it took a short time to extend and lay the new foundations in quick-dry cement.
After waiting a day to ensure the base had dried sufficiently, the beautiful lean-to conservatory was constructed – creating a peaceful room which overlooks the east-facing garden.
“The old conservatory was about 30 years old, had single glazing and was little more than a cold room that was used for storage. You certainly couldn’t sit in it during winter,” said John, of Butt Lane in Snaith, near Selby.
“Now I enjoy going in there to eat my breakfast, read a book and watch the birds."
