Garden room is perfect space for busy family to relax together

This gorgeous garden room was built in East Yorkshire for a busy family who wanted to have a place in the garden where they can all come together for quality time.

Mr and Mrs Powdrell said they had been considering some sort of garden building for some time, when they were contacted by EYG regarding the launch of our new garden rooms.

They decided it was the right product which came along at “the right time”.

Why did they choose an EYG Garden Room?

Mrs Powdrell, a mum of two sports-mad boys, said family life is hectic, so they wanted a place where they could all get together in the garden to enjoy family meals together.

She said: "We just wanted an extra room so we could have more family time.

"We have already used it for our evening meal as the weather was so nice. We really like to be outside when we are at home so we really enjoy being in it.”

The couple have furnished it with a rattan table and chairs, complete with ice bucket insert, ready to enjoy their summer evenings in style!

 

What did we do?

The garden room is a medium size, at 3.7m by 3m, which was a bespoke size created for Mrs Powdrell, fitting comfortably behind their existing garage outbuilding in their back garden.

The couple chose anthracite grey cladding on the exterior, and anthracite grey aluminium bifold doors which push to one side to reveal a wide open space.

They also opted for a full-length tilt and turn window for extra ventilation and light.

The Powdrells also opted for EYG to install the flooring and the full electrical package. EYG installed electric sockets as well as eight remote controlled downlights, which can be switched on and off from a consumer unit which works from the house.

The base was constructed the week before the build began, and the garden room was completed in just eight days.

What did they think of the work?

Mrs Powdrell said: "It’s very nice, it's exactly what we wanted."

Mrs Powdrell added: “The workmen were great, really nice and tidy, we are really happy with everything."

She added: "We’ve had lots of nice comments from everyone who’s seen it, everyone loves it.”
