What did we do?
This beautiful ornate bay window design is typical of those used on homes in Cottingham, a lovely village location with a number of period properties.
Whilst the homeowner wanted a French door-style opening for the main window, they were keen to retain as much of this imposing bay’s original charm as possible.
So, we came up with a draft-reducing solution which would not look out of place or detract from the property’s ornate kerb appeal.
The decorative stone arch was retained to form a key part of the design, with the new double-glazed window fitted behind it for a modern twist on a classic look.
Decorative horns were incorporated into both of the adjacent single UPVC windows, which featured clear glass to give the overall scheme a traditional finish.
