Architectural details such as soffits, fascias, bargeboards, guttering and cladding contribute a great deal to the overall appearance of a property.
Unfortunately, these are the areas which seem most at risk of decay. Wind, rain, the freeze and thaw cycle, corrosion and insect attack can all take their toll, however careful you are about yearly repainting. Once the integrity is breached, then the structure of the whole house becomes vulnerable.
Fitting EYG products and systems not only safeguards your property, but frees you from the yearly round of inspection, surface preparation, preservative treating and painting. PVC-u is tough, durable, looks good year in year out, and needs little more than a wipe over.
Installation Guide
Stage 1 - Survey
Our EYG specialist will call to inspect your property and assess what needs to be replaced. This will be followed by a free, no obligation quotation. Following acceptance of our quotation, we will carry out a detailed survey with measurements. We will take care of all relevant planning permission and building regulation approvals.
Stage 2 - Installation
We will carefully remove all existing fascias, soffits, bargeboards, cladding, guttering and downpipes. The EYG roof guard is fitted - this prevents the ponding effect caused by sagging roof felt. To comply with building regulations, soffits (other than woodgrain effect styles) have 4mm wide vents to allow air movement. Woodgrain effect soffits are ventilated by special discs. White fascias and bargeboards are a full 18mm thick and are attached to the existing roof timbers with non-corrosive fixings.
Stage 3 - Appearance
Choose a style to complement the appearance of your home. We offer plain or woodgrain effect PVC-u fascias and bargeboards. Gutters - square or half-round - and downpipes are available in a choice of white, grey, black or brown. The overall effect has the appearance of traditional painted wood, or in the case of guttering and downpipes, painted metal, but of course, never needs to be painted and will never stretch, twist or warp.
Performance
The installation of felt to tiled roofs was faulty in various ways on a third of the buildings visited in a building research survey. The design of roofs should provide for the sarking felt so that it cannot "trough" behind the fascia. The exposed edge of the sarking felt where it projects into the gutter will deteriorate.

Cladding
Window cladding provides weather proof protection for the original materials of the windows. The cladding prevents water from getting to the window structure, eliminating the need to re-paint and maintain wood windows. You can choose from a variety of colors such as White, Rosewood and Sherwood.
